For the right-hand attachment, not the one shown on it. Charged the battery and finally got to attack some of the beast-size bushes and ferns about the place. I'll ache tomorrow.

I got really sucked in by the Amazon ‘Prime Day’ sale.

I’d been looking at some tools (pole hedge trimmer, chainsaw, stick vacuum) that use the same battery as my drills etc for a long time, I was going to end up buying them eventually anyway but as they were 40 to 50% off I just got them all and convinced myself if saved money in the long run. So convinced by the saving, that I also added two watches to the order, so that I could save my nicer watch for more special occasions.

The cheaper watch is probably my favourite. The plastic band feels so cheap but it's got just the right amount of bendiness without that overly-grippy rubbery feeling. It's dead light and incredibly comfortable, it doesn't need to be on tight, it doesn't slide around. And it doesn't tug my arm hairs like a bracelet would. The 'world map' is a bit useless as it's not contrasted enough from the LCD (a pale-ish blue would have been a netter backing colour than dark grey) but it doesn't really matter as it reminds me of a World Time Casio I had as a kid. And it was only 50 bucks, which is cheaper than any other watches I've had in the last 15-20 years (I'm no connoisseur by any means).

I'm absolutely chuffed with it, its nothing special in itself but I just really feel enthusiastic about it.

Here’s me new cordless stick vac.

I have loads of the batteries for this, so there’s little worry about it being flat and out of action when I need it.

It’s a bit heavier than I was expecting and the suction lessee than I was expecting. That being said, it still had a full canister after I vacuumed the living room (which if only done a few days ago with the big Hoover) so I guess it’s sufficient. Glad I didn’t pay full price.

I agonised over a cordless - outside of the sites that sell them, it's very hard to find a review that isn't just slop, with so many ex-household names turned into slop-review farms. Eventually I found an opinion that at least made up my mind - 'no cordless vacs are in our recommended section' and just didn't get one. But so long as it's getting stuff, that sounds fine really.

It's well worth a sub to https://www.which.co.uk/ for things like this.

Yeah, I've considered it - when I was a kid we always had one, then there was a while where reviews were common. Now trusted ones are valuable again

Yeah that's it, it's fine really, it'll do an OK job, there's nothing wrong with it at and how much suction does a cordless vac really need... but I still feel ever so slightly disappointed, just that human nature part of me wanting a bit more

I'd like a faster car, even though mine gets me there OK, and is fine. I just want it
I'd like a bigger telly, even though mine is pretty big and I can see it just fine, i just want it
A more powerful vacuum, a newer computer, a bigger house etc etc.

Perhaps this should have been in the first world problems thread instead.

I like the green of this Casio, and it feels nicely substantial - not heavy but kinda chunky. I appreciated that I was able to resize the bracelet myself without the nuisance of having to go to a shop.

The spinny bezel is nice, I like to use it as a bit of a fidget, and once I realised what its actual function was I have found it genuinely useful a couple of times. The date dial is so very small, I can barely read it.

Please tell me about this fan. I’ve developed a sudden interest in fans and have been looking at one of those shark misting fans, but I want to find a fan that actually makes a difference. I know that fans don’t cool the air, they just move it around, but I want it to move a lot of air over me, quietly.

Just got one of the shark misting fans it's absolutely brilliant, have used it in the garden while hitting golf balls into a net and have just done 10K on the rower which would normally have left me dripping but was absolutely fine. The water mist makes a really good bit of difference and isn't a gimmick. On lower speeds it's pretty much silent as well so I imagine it'll be on in the bedroom if it's a really hot night. Only the pink ones seem to be available anywhere, though.

Not bought yet but I've got a choice to make.

I've got three electric guitars but ideally I'd just have one (I'm as much a minimalist as I am a guitarist I guess). My three are all cheap and cheerful, picked mainly on looks but I've decided to consolidate into one decent mid-range guitar.

Torn between this nice blue finish (one of the guitars I'm selling has that same look).

Or this translucent black finish.

Blue guitar it is then. Or will be.

I'm going through the HARROWING process of selling two guitars on eBay. So I've got to figure out posting one of them and the other I've done as collection only which means that inevitably the guy winning the auction will then turn around and start asking me to post it.

But once that goes through I'll buy the blue one.

When my dad passed away, he left us with about 70 guitars that I need to sell. He died in 2018 and I'm still no closer to sorting them. The thought of dealing with ebay for that many guitars is giving me shivers!

I'd imagine there is but I don't want to be ripped off as there might be a few gems in there. I'm waiting on my brother (who knows about guitars) to sort through them and figure them out. I think he's had all the expensive and sentimental ones but I'm not entirely sure.

Also, seeing as they're at my mom's house it's a kind of 'out of sight, out of mind' situation. I'll get around to them one day but as to when that'll be.. I don't know.

Facebook Marketplace might be your best bet. At least it'll be collection only then.

If you list stuff on eBay as collection only, it's not too bad a process. It's figuring out posting them that's a chore.

An assortment of coloured box folders so I can shove paper work and stuff inside but still have a nice looking shelf above the desk. I’m really digging assorted colours right now.
