Kids can be funny when they're not fully awake.

When our daughter was about 5, one evening, a couple of hours after she'd gone to bed, she suddenly came downstairs and walked into the kitchen. Lyn followed her in and found her trying to sit on the flip top bin, clearly only half awake. When asked what she was doing, she said she 'needed a wee.' Lyn took her to the bathroom and then back to bed. The following morning she couldn't remember anything about it.

Oh god, Darwin went on a walk in his sleep once and diligently peed up against the wall. Luckily I’d bought a new carpet cleaner just the day before.

Was she ok with it?

In my dream last night, I was the producer/creator and voice actor of a new animated Incredible Hulk Cartoon. I was the voice of the Hulk itself, not Bruce Banner, just the hulk.

In the first half of the dream, the main tension was that as a voice actor, I didn't feel the Hulk was getting enough lines, it was too much Banner and not enough Hulk, but the producer was leaning more into that side of the character, delving into the life before the Gamma Ray incident in flash backs. So much so that there was almost two personalities involved and a hulk/producer split was starting to mirror the character in the cartoon.

I woke up before that could fully develop, but it was still the middle of the night, and when I got back to sleep, I was back in the same dream, I was in the producer's mindset, and coming up with ideas for the main baddie.

The central premise was going to be that he was an evil scientist that wanted to emulate the hulk, but without the Rage/Anger element, a controllable hulk, he managed to successfully do this, but had erred too much on preventing the rage, that actually he became almost the opposite of the hulk.

Sill big and powerful, but excessively nice and jolly, and wanting to be friendly and to please you.

Just like the hulk, he would turn at unexpected moments, and it would thwart the plans he was in the middle of executing.

Alas, I woke up again before anything specific was written.

Typically, most of the dreams I remember these days are work related in some way. This morning was no different.

I’d woken up early because I was at a residential training centre that I hadn’t been to before and I was scheduled to run a 1 day course on a Friday, but I had it in my mind that it wasn’t a very important course, though I couldn’t remember the actual subject. I assumed that I’d be using someone else’s materials and that I’d just be winging it. I'd only recently joined the company, but I couldn't remember its name or what kind of business it was.

I was in a side corridor and all my course materials, in bags, was on the floor. I was trying to decide what to do first, and thinking that I needed to get all my stuff to the training room, but realised that I didn’t know the layout of the place, so I didn’t know what room I’d be using, or where reception was so that I could ask about the room and get the key, if I needed it.

At this point, people seemed to be arriving in the corridor, but I didn’t know if they were my trainees, delegates for other courses or training centre staff. It looked like some of them had just got out of bed and I could see through a door into a residential room that there was someone only half dressed.

I went through a door into the nearest room, that I thought was a utility room, but there was a double bed in it, with one person in it, still fast asleep, even though it didn’t look like a resident’s bedroom.

I came back out of the room and was looking at the stuff on the floor and thinking I needed to start moving it, but there was so much of it that I knew I wouldn’t be able to move it all in one go. So I was standing in the corridor, still concerned that I didn’t know the subject of the course, where the room was or who the trainees were and whether all this stuff on the floor was actually all mine.

Another work related dream last night.

I was on a residential training course. I was in a corridor, with a lot of other people wandering around, and I was looking for my bedroom, but the rooms weren’t in numerical order. I looked in some rooms, all of which should have been bedrooms, but some of them were set up as training rooms or offices. Everyone seemed confused about what room they should be in.

Then someone said that a few of us had had rooms reserved for us in another building, that had previously been a hotel, within walking distance of the training centre.

So I set off to look for this place and found it, but it looked derelict. I thought that maybe it would be OK inside, so I tried to get to the front door. There should have been steps up to it, but they had collapsed, so I had to climb up this stone build facade to the front door and then did manage to get inside.

But again, the room numbers didn’t seem to be in numerical order and I was wandering around again, and the building also looked dilapidated inside. Then I thought I’d found my room but I couldn’t get the door open.

Notes: As a matter of fact, when I was in the civil service, we had a residential training centre in Sheffield, but when I first went there in around 1980 it had only recently been opened and the residential block wasn’t finished, so we had to stay in hotels within a couple of miles of the of the training centre, and all the buildings were stone built.

Had a dream about Cottage, of all things.

Except first we all met at a different cottage, before heading out to the actual Cottage, which was now in the woods.

Is there a second, super-secret pre-Cottage? Is there a post-Cottage cottage?

I woke up before the mystery was resolved.

I had a dream last night where I was telling everyone that I could definitely recall the names of all three human companions to Scooby Doo.

I had a dream that I was on a ship, and laying in a very small bunk bed next to Grim (as in, we were sharing a bunk) and I was a bit upset because I’d never been invited to a Halloween party. He said he was holding a Halloween party in a big rugby field near his house and would I like to go to that, and that it was strictly in costume and there would be a bonfire and fireworks, and then I was incredibly happy again.

Mrs. W had a dream that we were at a fun fair and she was carrying our dog, Ollie,

who was only a puppy.

Ollie said he'd like to go on the Waltzers, so Mrs W went on them with him and which he enjoyed. When they got off, she saw me standing with my back to her. I was wearing a pakamac, like this,

but right down to my ankles.

In front of me was a small circular table, with tiny cups and saucers all around the perimeter and Mrs. W said, "I didn't know you still liked to play that game.

I had a dream that I was ballroom dancing with JBR, and we were amazing. Then he said he’d come around the next day, and when he turned up he was carrying an 8ft Christmas tree that ass my housemates (I think from my university house) were cooing over.

Then we drove to a beach (Brighton, I think) and sat on a bench on the seafront and drank coffee in big coats.

All very me. Just let me know when you need the tree.

(It's definitely not. Nearest I came to ballroom dancing in reality was on a stag do, in Windsor. One of the group could dance, and he ended up with a queue (A QUEUE!) of women waiting to dance with him, while the rest of us watched on, drinking, pretending we were completely unbothered. If smart phones had been available, we'd all have been looking up instructions and following videos.)

I had a dream about a load of forum members being in a pub. I can't remember too much if the dream but I think Someone threw something at which really hurt, and then Bobby got really mad at me for exaggerating my pain for affect. He was really annoyed as I was sprawled out on a bench with blood oozing from my forehead. Then I woke up.

I bought a new Printer / Scanner, and it arrived all in pieces and was a real pain to put together. However, after I had assembled it, I realised it had a fold-out section that was an electric grill.

I had this Dream the other night, but haven't gotten round to posting it until now:

I was with a group of friends (Dream friends, not actual friends) one of whom was Kamla Harris, we were planning on going to the US, but initially we were just hanging out in a tree house having fun, then it cuts to us being on the plane, and I realise I don't have my passport on me (I have this dream loads, I am on a flight to America and I don't have a passport, with no explanation on how I got on the plane without one). I am panicking inside, but trying to remain calm as I don't want to alert the flight crew.

Kamla comes over and tells me that she can sort out it as she still has connections in the government (I haven't told her that I don't have my passport) and I worry that she might be in on it, and/or the Trump administration might make things worse!

I then decide to walk through a door (like a door from a corridor into a large open plan office) and on the other side there is a meeting going on, I recognise one person "Phil Jones", he lived next door to me from when I was 1 until I was 8, he's about 10 years older than me, and he was one of the Scout leaders at the Scout troop I went to, our dads were quite good friends and I've seen him once since about the mid 90s (the memorial service for my parents in 2008).

We hug and catch up, before an announcement comes over the tannoy asking passengers to return to their seats.

We are coming in to land, and another message is broadcast, about diverting to a different airport due to the fires, which are so bad, that we have to fly super low over a burnt out husk of a building.

From my sear I can now see out the front of the plane (like being in the back seat of a car, looking out the front window) and we are indeed super low, the nose of the plane surely about 5 meters above the collapsed roof of a church that is still on fire.

We eventually touch down and then I wake up, (I have never got to passport control in these dreams)

It’s a good job you cleared this up so that we didn’t all think you were the VP’s bestie.

I was trying to say that she (and Phil) were the only real people in the dream, everyone else was created by my subconscious imagination

I was in an office, preparing for a meeting, which I think I had organised. I had a clipboard with some scribbled notes on it, presumably information I needed for the meeting. I put it on a desk while I was occupied with other things.

Then someone told me that the meeting was now to be held in Buckingham Palace, and we all needed to relocate there.

At this point I realised that someone was sitting at the desk where I'd left my clipboard and had taken possession of it, so as I was making my way to the door I asked if I could take the page with my scribbled notes, as they'd be essential for the meeting, but I didn't feel comfortable asking for the clipboard itself.

So, normally I don't mind a bit of a dream/nightmare as they're more interesting once you've stopped panicking or whatever. But I've got this recurring thing where I wake up thinking that my eyes have sort of pushed into the back of my skull. It's like once or twice a week and it's really unnerving. I blame work stress but even so, argh!

Is it just a mental notion or are you getting pressure in/behind your eyes?

I had so many dreams last night. One of which I was in HMV as a customer, and I saw a game I wanted to buy, and someone on this forum (won’t say who as it’s a bit weird) was working there and kind of talking to me from behind the counter, and then tried to explain to me that there was a bit of a problem as I was standing there, crouched over looking at this game box, but was only wearing a blazer. No trousers or skirt, but I’d been chatting with them for about 20 minutes at this point, and they were only telling me now.

I was in the back garden, waiting for contractors to come and take away a shipping container. Then I realised I needed to empty it before they could take it. When I opened it, it had a lot of empty coffins in it. Not wooden ones, but the type an undertaker would use when collecting a body.

There were also some tools in it, one of which was a plumber's pipe cutter, and the plumber turned up to collect it.

Then I was thinking that maybe I should keep the container and convert it into a garden room and also wondering how they were going to lift it without any equipment.

I had horrible dream this morning.

I dreamt that I had woken up and it was Saturday (which will be the first of 9 days off to celebrate me getting really old). Then in the dream, I realised it wasn't Saturday, but that it was Thursday, and at least I only had 2 more shifts to do before my time off.

Then I actually woke up and realised it was Wednesday.

I was very disappointed

I’ve had some weird, interesting dreams recently due to either having the shingles or taking the shingles meds. Most were lost time and just dealing with being ill, but the three most recent were:

My mother had me committed to a mental hospital because she had £6000 in her will to split between her six kids, but spent £2k of that so decided the easiest thing to do would be to have me and one of my brothers committed. The conditions were mediaeval. Locked in a tiny room with nothing to do, chained up, someone watching you on the toilet, etc. I tried to contact MaliA to ask him to get me out on my monthly contact allowance but had the wrong details for him. Next I contacted KrazyWookie who arrived some hours later, but there were two staff members and four officials there who wouldn’t actually let me talk and just kept telling him I was happy doing jigsaws and painting (rather than locked in an amity cell). He said he was really happy with my care and made to leave, and during a brief 2 second hug whispered in my ear that he’d break me free.

I had a dream that I was back working at HMV but we had no customers as music had gone digital. It was my first day and the first hour of the day was spent laying on foam mattresses talking about our feelings.

Next job was a stock take, and I was taking some pens to put back into the stock room as we never sold the boxes of big burps anyway, and the stockroom guy was Timothee Chalamet, who after putting two boxes of pens back in the shelf showed dismay at the amount of work he had to do (put back four more boxes of pens) so went for a lay down.

Russell, Darwin and I went to watch Elton John perform in a REALLY small (like 4x4m) room above a pub. After performing an incredible set he ran a pub quiz about the audience members for the roughly 20 people watching. He was extremely lovely.

Last night I had another instance of my recurring dream where I am a passenger on a double decker bus that Russell is driving along the coast when it hits a ramp that sends it 50 meters into the air and over the ocean, and I’m trying to work out how to save all the children in on board with before the bus crashes into the sea.

I’ve had it twice in the last three days, but generally get it about 2-4 times a year.

Not a fan of Elton or quizzes?Or small rooms? I love Elton John. I think Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is probably my favourite song of all time (it’s between a few but that’s the one that I immediately think of when anyone asks me that question).

He’s written great songs but he comes across as a proper little madam to me.

I’d only do his pub quiz if he included drinks, snacks and cash prizes.

Essentially I wake up and just feel like part of my skull has collapsed. I can't tell if it's my head feeling it or if my hand (I tend to sleep with my face in my hand). I wake up, have a mini-panic and then almost immediately fall asleep again while trying to process it. Proper weird.

I've apparently always had night terrors ever since I was a kid and Mrs Blucey says they still happen fairly often. I apparently sit up in a bit of a panic. I never remember those though. So this skull thing is like the next level up from that.

I have no idea why as I don't think I've got any unresolved trauma and I'm pretty much not bothered about most stuff!

Love Elton but not sure how many. My friends and I make 20-track playlists of bands, no more no less. The best 20 things they've done. Some great bands hard to get to 20 (primal scream) others impossible to narrow down (pulp, beastie boys).

I had a horrible nightmare last night, and I think it was because I looked at the forum before I went to sleep.

I had a man chasing me, and he had an arsenal of knives and guns. I had Bean with me, too, but he was much younger as I was carrying him, and trying to run.

There was an absolutely tremendous storm. It was the middle of the night and there was really heavy cold rain, and thunder and lightning. I was being chased through the streets and trying to see where I was going through the rain and dark. The man was shouting but it was incoherent. He sounded drunk and really angry, but I didn't know what at, and he was determined to kill me.

I managed to get to a 1970s style tower block that had been kind of gentrified. I got in and was trying to get Bean up the stairs with me and we were both soaked through to the bone and he was drifting in and out of sleep. I somehow knew which door belonged to Grim and Craster who were living together. I knocked on the door to let me in. When they opened the door it was all warm and light in there, and there was an old record player on and everything was warm 70s shapes and colours. They were just having a drink.

I told them about the man, and asked if I could hide out there for the night with Bean. Grim was like 'absolutely not, no' and I was literally on my knees begging for my life. Craster was kind of whispering to Grim 'look, she's clearly desperate, just for one night', but Grim was having none of it and turfed Bean and I out.

I tried to hide under the stairs on the ground floor and pulled a load of dust sheets and tarpaulins over us and tried to stay quiet, but I knocked some paint cans or something and the man was right there again. I grabbed Bean and ran back out into the storm and into a road and was almost hit by a car, which was being driven by Kovacs. He was all cheery and friendly and I was trying to explain what danger I was in. He said he was driving to Newcastle but I could sleep in the car if I wanted to get in. I bundled Bean into the car and was shivering, and Kovacs had a load of fast food and was just cheerily laughing along, offering us something to eat.

Then I woke up.
