Slightly reminiscent of Solar Opposites, Invader Zim and... Something I've forgotten since Zim popped to mind... But live action.

Big fan of Resident Alien. It might have gone on a bit long, but it's still entertaining.

Zero Day. Unfortunately both unbelievable from a Deus ex machina perspective and laughably unimaginative through the lens of Actual America.

We are enjoying this one a lot. We've only got one more episode to go, eps 6 and 7 were very tense, very well done.

Really nothing there to suggest there'll be another musical episode. But still 10/10 on the anticipation scale, ta.

The thumbnail for Tracker, on Disney+, looks like a low budget Reacher (muscular, handsome man standing in a slightly flexing pose with the name in CAPITAL LETTERS behind them).

It's actually quite entertaining though in a nice simple kind of way. At first I thought it reminded me a little of early Supernatural (travelling round America, getting into a bit of fisticuffs - but it's OK cos the main character is tough - solving the problem of the week and then moving on) just without the, um, supernatural elements. Then I remembered the TV show Renegade, which was on Sky One in the mid-ish 90s. It's really like that, and I loved Renegade, it was simple but fun. I'm sure there are countless other similar TV shows about the wandering bloke solving crimes, charming the ladies, getting into the odd scrape with the law but always saving the day and then moving on, but right now I can't think of them.

The Residence is like Knives Out but about the white house and spread over a dozen episodes.

I like Kevin Bacon, and the splash trailer at the top of the Amazon Firestick homepage made The Bondsman look interesting.

It's not bad but after the first 2 episodes I'm wondering if there's much to see here. It felt like the extended trailer at the end of Ep1 was the show blowing its load too early and saying "Coming up on this season of The Bondsman - here's all the good bits".

The monster design is quite good, creepy faces and all, and the special effects are also quite good for a TV show. But i have a feeling that a lot of the climactic fights will be the main character getting thrown around and pounded only to narrowly scrape a win with a lucky shot or some other fortuitous intervention.

Season 2 of The Last Of Us started really well.

I expect they’ll need to split the game over two seasons to do it justice.

I watched all of Ep 1 but managed to fall asleep partway during eps 2, 3 and also ep 4.

Starting to watch TV shows after 10pm is not a great move for me and that also means it isn't a fair assessment of the show, but it does demonstrate that I'm not exactly hooked by this and it's not gripping TV.

After mainlining 16 seasons of Ink Master, we've decided to watch some actual TV shows. Currently going through these two.

Not Dead Yet - comedy thing where a woman is working at a newspaper, writing obituaries but she sees the ghosts of the people she's writing about. It's all very nice and harmless. The security lady from Superstore is in it and she's had a serious glow up.

Good Cop/Bad Cop - comedy cop show where a brother and sister team investigate crimes in some quiet town somewhere. He's full on Sheldon Cooper ASD and she's super nice. It's pretty enjoyable.

It's distinctly reminiscent of Justified x That Other Thing From 20 Years Ago, but we enjoyed it.

We watched ep1 of St Denis Medical and it looks like it could be a decent show, funny and a bit scrubs-y but less wacky. The actresses that played the mom mum from The Goldbergs as well as Sandra from Superstore are in it too.

The Andor season 2 pitch must have been something like "rebel moon? Hold my beer!"

yeah true, they definitely worked hard to dress her down in that show.

I'm seeing mixed things about The Last of Us s2. I hated the second game (I just found it impossibly dull) so I've been putting off watching it but I did quite like s1 of the show. Anyone bothered with it yet?

What mixed things have you seen? It's been fucking awesome so far. I reckon the same people that hated TLOU2 for their... personal reasons are the ones that are hating S2.

Also some troublesome weirdos are upset that Ellie isn't "pretty enough"

I also didn't finish TLOU2 but at the time I remember finding it just too relentlessly grim, might have to revisit it. Enjoying the TV show so far, though.

Tempted to replay it too after watching the show.

Certainly seeing a lot of moaning about Bella's acting but as you say, I think that's from weirdos who don't fancy her (despite her being basically a traumatised child). I've seen stuff about bad dialogue, inconsistent characters, slow pacing.

Bella's acting is phenomenal. Maybe people are missing that Ellie is hiding who she really is when she's around other people. The faux joviality is a mask and you can see it in a few scenes such as when she leaves the clinic in Episode 2 and the end of the last episode. When she's able to let the mask drop and be herself, she's bloody chilling.

Also, there's some plot that some people immediately rebelled against. To me it was so big I was still pondering it a couple of days later, and I wondered what next, because the world had shifted. But not 'oh it's done now'.

I thought she was too old, but that's fixed now time has gone by in-universe.

Now I'm worried Abbie is too small.

See, I get why they made Abby buff in the game: She's the Joel substitute for gamers who were used to Joel's robust, muscular presence. But in the show there's no reason for her to be anything other than "in shape" as they're definitely setting up a Abby/Allie dark mirror thing.

But her size was key to the Ellie / Abby relationship. Ellie would slit your throat in your sleep and you'd never know she was even near you. Abby would kick your front door clear through your back wall and punch your head off. Abby being a roided up She-Hulk was a big part of who she was and drove the way she acted.

Rest assured that I'm still going to watch and I'm still going to enjoy it. It's just what I've noticed.

We watched the Netflix mini-series Zero Day

I was expecting it to be a bit of an exciting disaster series but was more of a political thriller, it wasn't slowwwwwww but it wasn't a thrill ride either. Overall, it was alright, a bit saggy in the middle but I enjoyed how it wrapped up. It's the sort of thing that's a decent watch but is really for when you've got to the end of all the other stuff you really wanted to see.

Robert DeNiro and Lady T's dad really look similar in their old age. I also thought DeNiro looked a lot like the old man from Up when he was wearing the thick-rimmed glasses.

We've started Channel Zero. After 1 or 2 episodes it's quite good. Lots of tropes stirred together well.

Started watching High Potential which is the woman from Always Sunny but now she's incredibly smart/observant but also white trash. And she gets paired up with a police detective to solve crimes.

So it's essentially Bones/Castle with a degree of Suits.

That's right, three of the worst TV shows ever made. But all three started off being good before becoming absolutely awful. So this is in its 'alright' era. I assume I'll be dropping it in a season or two.

Oh include Lucifer on that list too. Fucking shit!

Lucifer was unwatchable. The casting of the guy from Miranda was an awfully bad choice.

I really liked Lucifer.

I quite liked it - so much so that I've watched season 1 of the French original "Haut Potentiel Intellectuel" which has some stories that are directly copied 1 for 1 to the American version and others that have not made it across yet.

If anyone liked the UK version of Ghosts the French and German ones are online now and although they both take insperation from the original they do put their own spin on things.

He then received a lot of attention from some Polish-run Twitter account which was discovered to be a sock puppet account run by Coren himself.

But he’s written loads of really creepy gross stuff over the years.
