Hello.

I have set up a fantasy football league for Beexers should they want to join. It’s a Head to Head style league so each week you go up against another member of the league. This means each week is a little more exciting and there are still things to play for as the season goes on.

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagu ... oin/4rh9j8

That’s the link to join up. You can either us the Premier League website or their app (recommended).

The season will end with the last two weeks as a playoff between the top four teams.

Get involved!

Thoughts after week 1.

Slightly disappointed with getting the second highest score in the league and losing.

Mildly annoyed that I did the most amount of research this year about picking players that would start, and still picked 3 that didn't (with 2 that didn't even play at all)

Very annoyed that I picked the wrong captain (as I always seem to do)

Really fucking annoyed at how bad the app and website are. It's about 73% less functional than last year! It looks worse, half the functionality doesn't work half the time, it's a worse UI just rage inducing.

Off to work out if I need to transfer one of my defenders that didn't play at all, or my striker that came on for 15 minutes at the end of the game.

Week 2 thoughts,

Better result, slightly more points scored and the win secured.

However, my team is in tatters. I now have 4 injured and 1 person not playing whole games.

That's before I look at my sub par players who actually are getting picked.

I think I will hold off on wildcard (it's far too early for that) and see what happens in the international break.

Awful week for me, the international break cannot come soon enough!

I will still need a miracle though, as I now have 5 injured players, if they don't all go to Lourdes and receive a cure, I may well have to do free hit or something equally as extravagant (which I am loathe to do so early ).

I ended up using my free hit, but it turns out I didn't need to, only 2 of my potentially injured players didn't play, however, the team I mustered in an optimal formation got 86 points and would easily have beaten everyone in the Be FPL To Each Other league this week, however, I am far from optimal when it comes to deciding who plays and left 23 points on the bench and captained the wrong player (to highlight how sub optimal I am, 45 minutes before the deadline I subbed Grealish in for Semenyo - Grealish went on to score 2 points, with Semenyo netting 13.

Despite all that I was beating my opponent (Myp) before the last game of the weekend (Man City v Man Utd) and we both had Haarland, but Myp had captained him. So I was in the weird situation where I actually needed Haarland to do badly, pick up a yellow or a red, miss a penalty, certainly not go and score a couple of goals and pick up man of the match points too!

So another loss then and my team reverts to what it was before the wild card was played, however it seems that it's only Liam Delap that is injured now, I can deal with one injury and let's see what next weekend brings (and who gets injured in the Champions League matches...)

Oh I forgot to add I am now in the lead in my family FPL League tied on points with my eldest son, but it's put me top, so I'm taking it.

What an awful week,

I think I just need to resign myself to always picking the wrong captain, and leaving the wrong players on the bench. (It's why I prefer the Champions League Fantasy subs system, because you can make sub changes through out the game day).

Going in to the last game of the weekend (Arsenal v Man City) I was tied with Jolly Watkins, I had Declan Rice, Jolly Watkins had Erling Haaland and Phil Foden. I just needed Rice to score more points than those two combined.

This hope was crushed when Haaland scored before 10 minutes had been played.

I am now bottom of the league with 1 win from 5 games, despite having the second highest score behind Bournemyppy

I have also gone from first to last in the league I play with my two eldest sons.

Not a good week at all.

One year I will get the good start, one year.
