Weirdly, it was black.

That was the most unrealistic part of the whole dream.

Edit: the car looked like this:

So, I had this experience BEFORE I went to sleep last night.

I was lying in bed, thinking how awake I was, even though it was after 01:00, I closed my eyes and 'saw' a blur at the bottom of my vision (I thought it was some sort of afterglow that you get when you've been looking at something bright), but the blur morphed into the shape of troll

Attachment:
images[1].jpg

imagine one of those, but it's like a midnight blue 2d cell shaded version. It started dancing around, like it was on chest, but like it was a hologram. It then appeared to notice that I could see it!

A larger vista appeared and multiple shapes (looking vaguely like people, but not human) were peering through a window or portal (it had had foggy edges) at me, they were all various shades of dark blue, purple and black. There were a couple of cyan shapes moving around, they had black faces (or at least black areas where there faces would be, I couldn't see any features) and bright red lights for eyes.

It looked like they were all talking about me, but I couldn't hear anything, only see them, it looked like they were incredulous that I could see them.

It was like they were filling the space above my bed, but it clearly wasn't there there was no substance to it, like some badly done 2d special effects from a 70s film. At one point I did the cliched thing of reaching out to try and touch them, but the vision, hallucination, whatever it was, was not tangible and appeared to be rendered in front of my arm.

After about 5 minutes it faded away and I was just in my bed, with my wife sleeping beside me.

I can tell you I was more than a little disturbed, and it took me sometime to get to sleep, this might not technically be a dream, because I am pretty sure I was awake for it, but I was in bed, so I imagine some part of my brain was dreaming, before I actually fell asleep.

Yeah… you’ve just kinda described something I’ve not long since heard about others experiencing on a Mysterious Universe podcast there, Malc!

My mate Stu had something similar where Jesus, on a cross, was floating face down above him and looked angry.

Mad brain shit I guess.

Trying to find the episode now. Trouble is they’ve done loads. Defo one with a portal though with small imp like beings looking bemused that they were being observed.

I’m sure you’ve thought of this already Malc, but could you have been dreaming that you were awake, but weren’t actually?

It sounds terrifying.

I had a weird little dream this morning. I had to wake up early to take The Eldest to a school trip and just before my alarm went off I dreamed that I'd woken up. In the dream, MrsPaz said "don't wake the baby" and then I heard a horrible evil chuckle from the corner near my head. I snapped around to look and then woke myself up properly.

Shit me right up that did.

Omg. That would have messed with my early-morning brain.

There have been a few times when I have heard a voice or evil laugh as I am waking up, but it always turns out to be the sound of somebody mowing the lawn.

I think you should consider removing the lawn from your bedroom.

I mean I could've, but It didn't really feel like a dream, I felt awake.

In the past I've had plenty of experiences where I have slept for a very short time and then woken up, and when I do that, I really struggle to convince myself that it's not time to get up and it didn't feel anything like that.

The feeling I got was similar to being in a dark room with an old fashioned fireplace, and you are sitting there alone, watching the flames dance around, but instead of the crackling of the wood, it's just quiet, and you just stare at the flames dancing, and the shadows they are causing.

But instead of flames these were humanoid shapes and instead of being orange and white, and red, they were dark blues, purples and black.

I really got the sense that they were calling others over to come and see that I could see them, like it was a really rare thing, and they wanted everyone to see it, but it was just in total silence.

I do remember thinking that if I was religious, I might think they were people trapped in hell and it was some sort of warning to change my ways before it was too late, and I did consider posting this last night, in case they came for me during the night or something silly like that, but I decided I wasn't going to give in to superstition, as it was just a waking dream or tiredness induced hallucination (or an actual illness I guess)

I am and no "visitors" last night.

I did have a weird thing this morning. Just after I woke up, I was lying in bed with my eyes closed, my right eye slightly tighter than the left one, and I could "see" shapes, looked like line scribbles, moving around, as I woke up more, I could see that there was a central black spot that the squiggles were connecting to, then I could see that the black spot was in a white egg shape.

It occurred to me (I think because I first thought that it must be 'floaters' that I could see) that the white egg shaped thing was probably my eye ball and that the black spot in the middle with lines coming off it was probably the blind spot caused by my optic nerve.

I was able to "see" it for a couple of minutes before it faded, as I presumably fully woke up and stopped dreaming.

The other thing I thought was wondering if it was possible to see the back of your eyeball reflected off the front of your eyeball and that's what I was seeing (somehow) I assume not, and that it was all in my head.

They sound like floaters, I suffer a lot with them. Since wearing distance glasses I can focus through them better.

The central egg is odd though, but not as odd as interdimensional imps, I guess.

Yet another random training course dream, this morning.

I was in a building I didn't recognise in Liverpool, a few floors up, in what appeared to be quite an old building. There was a large, curved window at the back of the room with a view over the Mersey. I was supposed to be running two sessions, one relating to health and safety, the other was another subject, both at the same time. There were either too many delegates, or too few chairs, but while I was wrestling with the crappy technology in the room while preparing to start, the delegates had helpfully borrowed chairs from other rooms. I'd started the ice-breaker session, but different delegates kept chipping in with bits of chat about random things, one of them that several had been working on EEC funded projects that had been cancelled after Brexit. No matter how many times I tried to get back on to the ice-breaker, someone engaged me in conversation about something else. This carried on until my alarm went off and woke me up.

I had a dream that I was some kind of gentrified pirate called Lady Swindlesquare, and I stole men’s handkerchiefs from their pockets.

The dream lasted a second. I didn’t do anything in it at all. It’s like my sleeping brain thought of a fun character and then went ‘lol’, and moved on.

I had a dream last night that had a whole host of Beex-ers, past and present in it.

We were all out for a day at Chessington World Of Adventures, and staying in a wood cabin that I always dream of in relation to one Beex-er (weird how your sleeping mind builds these structures that you then continually visit over and over in dreams).

Anyway, a few highlights: Craster was trying to get into the same Bubbleworks boat as Grim… but he was too slow so tried to get into one with Russell, DocG and myself but he fell in the water and had to be rescued.

Goddess Jasmine was hand feeding giraffes sandwiches (watched The Last Of Us last night AND found my hen do photographs where we fed giraffes).

I agreed to go with Malc for a day trip to Scotland to look at museum armour.

Dr Zoidberg bought one of every single stuffed toy in the toy shop and donated them to Birmingham Childrens hospital.

MarkG and Zardoz were running some kind of competition to Chessington, where they were each running a carnival ride, and MarkG kept shouting at Zardoz because he was smoking or vaping, I think, and he kept telling him it was really bad for him.

Over the last 3 or so years I've built parts of a town, expanded to a town, added suburbs, a coastal mountain range with a German town (only reachable by road), a motorway network with a Mediterranean/middle east type city at one end, Welsh/Somerset type mountains, gorges, tourist towns the other, a train network, an underground cave network (which is where the train network terminates, and is very Victorian), an airport (going to somewhere exotic, possibly africa-ish, with an ocean that has weird tides)...

Apart from the more far-flung, obviously based in fiction I don't remember consuming, there are bits recognisable as Manchester, Stafford (including the uni), Northwich, Salford, sale (including the boys' grammar that no longer exists), Liverpool, Rhyl (far too sunny, occasional shark attacks), Wrexham, Herrenberg/Stuttgart, workplaces and pubs I know, the estate on North Wales we lived on, the village it was in, and the house we lived in (I was there last night, I just remembered writing this. There was a sewage back-up into the garage) and more. There was a very lovecraftian Scottish coastal town but I've only "been there" once or twice.

All interconnected and coherent. And exhausting to dream in.

That's WAY too lucid. When I dream of people that I know, they're very rarely actual people that I know in real life.

I still dream mostly about work related things, the most recent being me trying to prepare for an audit, which is something I've never actually had to do. I was rushing around, trying to find documentation for the auditor, before they arrived.

I mostly only dream about people I know, have known in the past, or characters that I’ve seen in things the night before. Last night I dreamed of a sniper who was trying to shoot me in my childhood home, but that came directly from what I was watching last night.

Sometimes I *can* make myself dream something by thinking about it as I fall asleep. It doesn’t always work (or, at least, I don’t always remember the resulting dream) but it works a surprisingly high proportion of times.

Strangely, I’ve had a recurring dream about an airport which I get every week or two, and have done for many years (always the same airport, that seems to be based in the entranceway to our local hospital), but since booking our flights I’ve not had it once.

Last night/this morning I dreamed that I'd just taken up post as the manager or supervisor of a small team. I was immediately put in charge of the Tea Club and my staff started giving me money (for tea, coffee, sugar and milk, obviously), but I didn't know any of their names and they were all giving me different amounts of money and I was getting into a panic as I knew I'd never be able to work out if anyone hadn't paid, or when anyone that HAD paid was due to pay again.
