Nay: felt sick for most of the day

Yay: ate the bacon I put on the turkey to keep it from drying out and felt much better.

(Yes I cook my turkey the day before Christmas, what if it!)

Nay: a few weeks ago I had a blood test and it said my liver function was "abnormal."

Yay: I just got back from an ultrasound and the operator said my liver was "lovely."

After several more blood tests, the ultrasound mentioned above, an MRI and then a fibroscan I got a letter from the gastroenterologist saying everything looks fine and that my liver function tests have returned to normal. Which is good to know but also has me thinking WTF was that all about then?

How weird. Maybe you had a virus or something that you’ve since fought off?

Great news, though.

Thanks, Mimz. Well this is the weird thing as it's shown up in tests this year, five years ago and like eight years ago. Super strange!

Oh, so it’s recurrent? Oh, that is really strange.

I wonder if you struggle to process something in particular.

It must be something. On the drink side of things I don't drink alcohol at all and aside from the occasional caffeine-free Pepsi Max I only drink peppermint tea or water. I'm going to ignore it until my liver packs in.

My brother's just had a brief stint in hospital with an infection of some sort that resulted in abnormal numbers as far as his liver infection markers went.

They don't know what it was despite doing a broadly similar suite of tests to what you've just described.
